What vendor told you that?
Self Experienced (long story short,3 motors,$30,000,lawsuit won, started over again with XFI unit, problem Gone!) an other GN experts that have hit "the wall",80's ECM aren't made for 600+ hp modern builds, you can try to get it to work, but best to get the right parts in first place, An aftermarket ECM

Enjoy!

Very nice build.  Thanks for sharing.  The heat dispersent paint used on the radiator, any chance you remember the brand / type ?

The Paint is from http://www.techlinecoatings.com/
It's called Cilgen Thermal Dispersent paint. (After reading about it, Now you can't Spray Graffiti on my intercooler,Great for trips to the "Hood" ...lol)

Yep
Bruce the science guy:

actually, there is a lot of reason not to paint it black
it should be running at around 350K. That makes its thermal emission
peak at about 8.4 microns.

this is mid infrared... so to enhance heat loss, it's fine to paint it
with somethng that has high emmisivity in the mid infra-red. You can
be fairly sure that black paint is not such a material. Neither is
anodising but sandblasting may work well.

If it matters. The color/paint used to increase radiation doesn't do anything.

Now there is a paint that is designed to absorb longwave radiation and convert it to heat.....

It performs almost as well as plain ole flat black :)
I had to do something or else you seen the huge RJC Racing logo through the grill...;^)

9-5-12 ,The Rear's been mocked an being assembled an checked for straightness,The battery box is in (adding a fake one in front to hide relays an the Alky pump). Once it's rolling again an battery's in it it's time to Power it up an debug anything found. It's about that time to Call goddess Holly for Cal....The Xfi's been 2.0 updated an traction control installed. To make sure i dont screw the pouch i'm have Cal Hartline go over the car before first fire, then hopefully fire it an go for some test drives, I can't dyno it yet till i break in the brand new gear's in the rear, so'll we'll just do drivability test an knowing me do one full throttle hwy run at 22psi.

8-27-12, The rear's being mocked for the new rear custom built Q1'a, Front's are in an Done!! Battery's going in the spare tire holder then i'll get a trunk kit to hide it. Now i'm debating the seat upholstery. Go Leather stock color's or stay stock colored cloth...it's $200 difference, but with the leather kit you get the rear side an front side door panel material too...It's almost ready for the first fire-up!!! Opps, totaly forgot to ask about heat dispersant paint,I'll get the name an brand next trip ;^)

Man, that paint looks so good to begin with...
It "was" the 87' Original Lacquer (I'm a professional Detailer, Been doing Mobile Detailing for 20+years)Your Black Buick's best friend is a Fine Grade clay bar an bottle Quick Detailer,Then Teflon sealant type wax! poly's,silicones, esp. Carnuba wax's all evaporate in sun in 30 days on black paint job,Teflon won't..Teflons bonus, water sheets off, doesn't  water bead!! leaving spots..8^) Enjoy!

8-13-12 Update!! The Punkin Chunkens built ! Bulletproof, billet, detroit locker with traction control !! Same 3:20 gearing . Ordering Q1A's all around, got tired looking for custom height an rate springs. Now i'll be autocross spring rated with adjustable height an valved shocking....On ly have to work out all the clearance issues (exhaust,ATR rear sway bar, etc, etc) All the frame bracing's in except the two that go over the motor to the windshield from left an right fender corners. The Fiberglass KB lower scoops fixed an mounted along with the turbo inlet an outlets. The build continues..... ...
