Skeet is alot of fun. I tried it for the first time last year. A buddy
let me borrow his Remmington 1100. Center station low tower was really tough though. You have to lead like a mutha on that one.
This is a fun thing we came up with:
We have a local range with a huge hill for a back stop.
Every now and then we'll buy a case of Sam's Choice soda
from Wal-Mart (its cheap). A buddy of mine will shake 'em up and chuck them in the air on the 25yd range. I can get 2 shots into them before they hit the ground with the AR. I only do this within the protection of the hill so not
to allow any bullets to travel through the air. (in case someone decides to try this.)
Its wicked pissa, watchin' the cans sprayin' as they hit the ground.
California sucks when it comes to AR's they have the worst restrictions of
any state that I can think of. In California, you can't have a detachable magazine.
So most manufacturers make a Cali specific lower with a 10rd box mag that
you have to open the action to load. I guess the only way around that is to become
a cop. I've always hated how CA bitches and whines about something, so they
can have it their way, and then the rest of the country gets stuck with it.
Ex: Automobile emmissions, firearms, the elimination of two stroke dirt bikes and ATV's. And I'm sure there are a bunch of other things, that I haven't even began to scratch the surface on... I was really looking forward to buying a brand new Kawaski KX500 (the ultimake bike of death !)and they stopped making them to console
all the political do gooders in CA. I didn't want a four stroke, they're just not the same. It'd be like tryin' to replace a GN with a with a Dodge Neon, it just doesn't
cut it.
O.K. I fell a little better now.
