Another music thread.

What are you using for an amp Sylvan? And what kind of effects do you use?

I always use Fender Strats, HEAVY strings, I'm going to eventually build my own Jazzmaster, but not anytime soon. Here's an amp like mine: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=10171&item=7319371641&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW After that I have a 600 watt Carvin power amp into a 400 watt Carvin cab. I blows down Mesa stacks with ease.

You can never have enough music threads!

Truth be told, I do everything direct and don't even currently own an amp. I had a poor old Zoom 505 that was awesome to me for years, but needed more. Right now, this is my COMPLETE list of equipment..... pretty thin.

Jackson Professional Series Dinky, standard Duncan Designed pickups (never had the courage to mess with the sound of the guitar- I'm happy with it and ain't gonna try and fix something that's not broken). Dean Markley 11's. Boss ME-50 effects unit. Dean Markley accoustic pickup, Old Harmony accoustic guitar that I got at a flea market for $100. Yamaha DJX 2 keyboard for beats and less conventional sounds, Roland upright piano (don't know the model) for more conventional sounds- piano, strings, etc.

Wow, that's it.....plugged direct into the Fostex. You can see that getting anything to sound good (in the mix, that is) takes some clever mixing. I have very little equipment, but what I have -no matter how simple- treats me very well.

I'm neglecting my shit so much these days. I got 3 Fender Strats, only 2 have frets and I has strings now. I got a Carvin acoustic, but she needs a new set of strings too. I have been re-recording some material though. Still trying to lin it all Pink Floyd style. I guess I'm composing.

:D  LOL! True story...

I am at Willow Springs instructing when this guys comes up and asks me to take his Mercedes S500 out on the track and see what it'll do. So I say sure! (How could I say no?) We climb in and I fire up the car and blasting out of the stereo comes Whitney Houston or some shit like that! So I crank up the volume, roll down the window and head out to the track.

The peeps in the pits said they kept hearing some music coming from the track somewhere, but they couldn't figure it out, until we pulled in!

 :D

I have no radio in the new Monte, but I may consider Sirius.  :supz:

Hey bitches. This next week I will be dedicating myself to being as artsy as possible. This includes me laying out all the songs I have and redoing them Pink Floyd style so all the songs and such flow together like one endless song, Dark Side of the Moon style.

I need to wake up spiritually, school's been sucking the life out of me and everyone says I'm depressed. I just feel restrained. Fuck that feeling.

This is what I've been up to lately.

Its still in the early stages. We've been looking for a bass player,
and a lead singer. So for now bass is being played on the keys, and
we've been taking turns with the vocals.
