LOL Oh man, hell is coming!

Rob, you probably won't find a better tubey sounding amp. But IF you do, I'll take that Carvin off your hands. ;) Make sure you run it through a high wattage cab, as something like Celestion Greenbacks won't let it's full potential shine. It'll probably sound damn good through a low wattage bass cab without tweeters.

Brian:
I already own 2 Carvin 4x12 cabs. They're a little newer than the head, as they're
carpeted. I think they're rated at 400 watts rms each. I've had them for nearly 20 years now.
Sylvan:
That Jackson sounds sweet. The price tag would've scared me away though.
I like their EMG style oem pickups like the ones on my Charvel. I also like the
Jackson (Floyd Rose licensed) tremelo better than any I've ever used.
Neck through is definately the way to go. Much more sustain. For that kind
of cake, they should airbrush a GNX on it for you. I was looking at buying
one of the lower line Jacksons with a bolt on neck (approx. $550) Personally,
I'd forgo the gray cosmetics, and buy an off the shelf one in black and then personalize it. Either way, it sounds like a real beauty. :supz:

I went and browsed their web site the other night.
I lokked at the SL3, Soloist, and DK variations. I was
dissappointed that they don't show the EMG style jackson pickups
anymore. You basically have a choice between Seymour Duncan, and
3 different EMGs (81, 85, and HZ) The Seymour Duncan HB was a good
pickup back in the day (20 years ago...), But I always liked the EMG's better,
because they weren't as susceptable to microphonics and feed back in a
live situation. Obviously, thats not a problem in the studio.

I was thinking it'd be 'the balls' if they could cut a gnx flare into the body. I'll see if I can mock one up in PS.

Another thing that'd be the witches tit, would be to buy one of the
reproduction GNX dash plates from Kirban and put it on the guitar.
Jackson's custom shop does all kinds of strange stuff. I saw one
of their kelly guitars covererd in gold anodized aluminum diamond plate.
So I don't think anything is out of the question...

Yeah, the custom shop is down to do pretty much anything you can dream up. I've always been a fan of subtlety, so the flares crossed my mind and got nixed. I have turbo 6 and 'intercooled' bagdes on both of my other Jacksons, so *of course* I have planned all along to put a GNX trunk badge on this guitar when I get it....goddamn, can't anything be a surprise?

Jackson just got one point of "Bad Karma" for this one:

Its called the PS Extreme. :vom:
They even tried to cover it
up by claiming that P.S. stands for "Pablo Santana".

Agreed 100%. Jackson has had a few questionable ideas since Fender took over. Sorry, Brian.

Yeah, I thought it was kinda hoky for them to put Fender necks on the Charvels.
I like that style neck, but only on a Fender.

Fender disappoints me too. I haven't bought a Guitar World or guitar mag in like 5 years now. I stopped giving damn about what was new, just because I felt the wheel was round enough and nobody's going to cut it smoother, you know? My next guitar will be a Fender Jassmaster, but I'm going to build it with Warmoth parts. I don't trust Fender anymore, except from the late 60's to the early 80's.

I'll buy a strat someday, but it'll be one of the ones with dat big "gawdy"
headstock. For some strange reason that I can't explain, I like those.

My 76 is like that! Woot!

I think it's solid maple or something, the motherfucker is like 11 pounds. Might be HEAVY ash. The neck is at least an inch thick, like a baseball bat. I ripped the frets off and I need to re-fret the damn thing. I got with 3 humbuckers and a Valley Art custom shop active switching system. It's fucking weird. I got it about 10 years ago for about $400, now they're on eBay for like $1,800. Ridiculous.
