Octane Question
« Reply #15 on: November 26 2006, 05:11:57 AM »
Ooh, check your motor mounts and check if your downpipe is smacking the frame. Do you have a torque strap?
My 1958 Mamiya can beat up whatever camera you just wasted your money on.

Motor mounts have never been checked so thats on the list of things to check, don't have a strap.  Thanks for the ideas.

1turbo6...the detonation comes in as the car boosts up,  I havent put it to the floor in 2nd gear cuz I know the detonation is coming.  It gets to about 3.0 to 5.5 and my foot comes out of it immediately.  No it still misses at idle(intermittently) and I haven't checked it at WOT till I get more race gas.

if your running the newer version of the turbotweak chip you can try to take a degree or two of timing out to see if it makes a difference.

Instructions are awesome..... if you read them!!!  Pretty cool how this stuff can be done by the chip.  I'll give it a shot in a day or two and I'll let you guys know what happens.  :atbeer:

Everything is running alot smoother.  Don't know if I want to mess with the chip it seems that doing that might mask the problem as opposed to finding it and fixing it first.  Idle has never been a problem.  Will be getting an adjustable FPR and boost gauge so I'll be able to tune a little better(I HOPE)

Eric does a very good job, but every car is a little
different and requires a little "tweaking".

Well better late than never.....I bumped the timing down on the chip to 120 from 128 and HOLY SHIT!!!  Tires go up in smoke quick and gettin squirrelly in 2nd!!!   Shoulda tried this when you told me to RR!!@! :atbeer:  :atbeer:   I owe you a beer or two if you come down to CTC.

Somethin' tells me I'll end up in a comatose state with
no recollection of CTC. :atbeer:
