Semiconductor shortage...
« on: April 29 2021, 11:21:13 AM »
I've been trying to buy a truck for the last year.  I couldn't find what I wanted because of the covid shutdown.  I finally ordered one last December and still don't have it.  It apparently rolled off the assembly line on Feb 22.  But with the shortage of semiconductors I believe they stole parts off of it for more profitable Trucks.  And I am having a hard time buying a new computer as well.  :(

I just ordered 3 new iphones from verizon. They only had white in the 128gb model, but I'm glad I was able to get them. If not I was going to be doing battery replacement #2 on ours.

The crap thing about lumber is the yards are filling back up but the price isn’t coming back down.

Apparently the price has tripled in the last year for 2x4's and plywood!  All house supplies have gone up.  The price of shingles is really high too.  I have to do my garage this year.  I'd be interested to see what the price difference is from last year.  Can't see it being lower.

AMD stuff is nuts and the largest Canadian vendor is screwing their customers cancelling high end video card orders after 6 months wait. Somebody leaked that they actually have the cards just keeping them for "custom" builds.People that couldn't get the high end stuff bought further down the bragging scale causing a shortage there.
I was building a low end machine and had to order the APU "used" from Aliex to get one.

Thanks!  Once I break it in I will be buying a CAI and cat back.  I already have my upgraded turbo picked out, the 41mm.

Yup!  My buddy bought a brand new 3500 HD Denali and got it within 6 weeks, I had to wait almost 5 months.

But I am loving my baby max.  Not even broken in and I got it down to 10.3/100, 27 mpg combined but mostly city.  And I have been on and off the throttle constantly to not keep a steady rpm.  Once I hit 1500km I will dump the oil in it.  Can't wait for the borders to open to take it on a good highway trip!
