Bigger brake project

Ordered blazer front spindles, and the brackets and C5 front calipers, rotors for the buick today. Should stop much better, easier after but to be honest I'm doing it mostly for the look. Also will be a fun project for my 11 yrs old son and me to tackle. I will post up some before/after pics when done. If anyone has done this any advice is always appreciated  :atbeer: :atbeer:

I am curious to know if it will actually stop any faster the first stop.  But, I am always interested in such things so keep us posted and take some pics of the install so us ol' dummies can learn something :D

A shade over 12 and 1/2 in I have 17 inch wheels and they're supposed to fit I guess we'll see

They should fit.  I have 12" brakes on the front and they fit with 16" wheels.

Interesting,  I wonder what the maximum diameter is to fit under the 15 inchers

Got everything installed today, still need to bleed brakes and give it a whirl. Also needed to get new banjo bolts to connect brake lines. Everything went very smooth. Almost to good so waiting to find the catastrophic error! I plan to post up a new thread with pics and step by step if anyone else wants to do this. Hope it stops as good as it looks, cause I LOVE the look of the new set up!!

It's nice when things go right!  Been awhile for me. Think it was a distributor cap on a '53 Ford.

Thanks guys :cheers:  tight fit, had to get one rebalanced caus e the stick on weights were in the middle and hit the caliper. They are about 1/8 inch thick

If anyone is interested, I will post up some step by step with some pics on how this was done.

parts needed
spindles from a 98-03 2WD blazer
attached a parts invoice from Rock auto for calipers, pads, rotors, hubs
a bracket for conversion of caliper from Kore3
new banjo bolts to connect brake line to vette caliper

clean up and paint salvage spindles. you can see in the pictures where you need to file a bit for bracket to fit perfectly and get one caliper bolt through cleanly. You can install new hubs now, cut off ABS sensor line but leave sensor attached. Paint caliper to color of your choice and install pads.

Your ready to move to car now
