It hot in my car

turned  the ac on and it’s not so cool. Owell,off to race track how need Ac. Switched it to vent and woo got even hotter. Stopped and heater valve is working , I think, pull off the vacuum line and valve closed, on open. Pulled the line off no change in temperature. Drove to the track windows down only to be rained out.ok drive home muggy raining,no defrost ether. 
Any quick fix help? Read  the VortexBuicks section may possible be the cable behind the grove box but not convenient that’s it I’ll look in the morning before heading back to the track.

Quick fix it to jump out the heater core at the valve.


Then there's no way hot water can get into the heater box, and you can inspect the shutoff valve to make sure it's able to block off water flow.

Supper idea! Better than pulling the glove box out,got a bunch of electrical stuff hiding in there.

I’ll be looking for the fitting I had in the morning. Funny you know you have one but where in the world did I put it?Did I say I’ll put it here so I won’t forget?

there could be no reason to pull the glove box out.  there might be a reason to drop it down, but, if it is blowing hot air, then it sounds like the heater valve under the hood is bad...that is easy to replace and you can remove it and connect the two hoses together as a stop gap if you have to order the valve.


Beside the valve under the hood, these are the two common problems other than the door sticking closed due to the sticky foam seal around the door

Yes read both of those. Vacuum seams to work property need to spend more time checking. I believe the heather core is hot all the time and temperature is controlled by blinding hot air to cold our outside air. I’m I correct? I have yet to figure when vacuum is removed from the heater valve.

On the turbo version of the G body, when vacuum is applied to the valve under the hood, the valve should turn the water flow off as I recall.  When the vacuum is removed, the water will flow through the valve.


I think I would disconnect the valve from the hoses and see if water flows thru the valve when a vacuum is applied.  It should not if I am right in the above.  this is less messy if you have a Mitey Mite or vacuum source to close the valve while putting water into the valve on one side.

The door cable was off .i just closed it and off to the races I’ll fix it sometime this week
There maybe something up wit the valve I got hot air vacuum on or off.
More important next weekend is my 60 foot.
