Are they really worth over $100 each? Seems steep, how bad are the cheapies?

If you are relatively close to stock, the aftermarket replacements are not that bad.  Should be good for another 80K kms

you may feel a bit more vibration if you go with a poly mount, but one should last forever...espe cially for you old guys

I've been using the same ole (USA made) cheapies on my car for a couple decades now.



Granted, I can't win a bench race with them, but I also don't have a car that feels like it has a bad wheel bearing.       ....and the buzzy rear view mirror to go with it.

If you abuse it a poly is nice. You can firm up a rubber mount with a little fab work - it needs a piece of flat stock in between the tabs, the real trick is welding it up without catching the rubber on fire.

Cheapass ones on mine...surpris e surprise. RJC transmission motor mount for launching. Works mint...no vibration.

I have the HR parts on the left and right, and also the trans mount on my GN. Going from the stockers to the polys I experienced no new vibrations. I was warned that I would, but it never happened.

I run a new stock DS one on Ltd, nothing else. Of course the car wouldn’t pull a hen off a nest power wise. Lol

I have had the HR Poly mounts for 14 years and have worked great, no problems.  They raised the engine up a good bit and lifted the downpipe off the frame compared to the old saggy stockers they replaced.

Rubber engine mounts and a poly trans is begging for a cracked trans case

yep...engine can roll a small amount when it torques over, but the tranny is locked down tight so the case is twisted from the front.

At least we’ve moved on from anchoring the drivers side head to frame with one of the various engine limiting contraptions that the vendors used to push (maybe some still do?).

That's why some of us have the ear broken off the accessory bracket

The torque strap serviced its purpose back in the day before poly motor mounts.
