I'm on hitch this week up in Altus, Oklahoma. Momma and the kids at home in central Texas but have relatives coming up today from the coast. Kind of glad I'm at work

funny, after reading that and watching the news, the hurricane is now pulling a ueee.

I hope those down there are making good choices and doing some evacuating. This is something that shouldn't be thought of as "I've made it through before". Mother nature is not to be taken lightly.

Toronto Sun has several dozen pics of the devastation in Texas...and the storm could linger a couple of days. This is gonna be worse than Katrina.

I thought I heard on the news that it would drop 600 milliliters of rain in the worst spots? That's a lot of water in a couple days!

I think some areas, are projected to receive over a 1000 ml  I think my son's area has close to 450 mm in the past 24 hrs...he's okay, so far the drainage is working.  he's had about 3 ft standing in the street in front of his house but it goes away 30 minutes after it stops raining....Thi s stuff is projected to go on for another three days unless the weather patterns change.

Seeing lots of pics from folks I grew up with down on the east side Houston. Rain won't stop. Houses flooding. Tornadoes moving in and out of neighborhoods. Making Carter, Alicia and Ike look like little toys.

Thought my son was going to escape the flooding, but this afternoon, the bayous overflowed, the drainage stopped and water is rising in his area.  Neighborhoods around him have evacuated and the overflow from those areas is coming into his neighborhood.  Rained all day instead of being in bands.  Think he is around 30 inches now
