What would be a better core size for a car with my mods, a 24 x 11 or an 18x11?
87 GN, K&N cold air, gutted cat, TT 5.7 chip, AFPR, 340 Walbro w/ hotwire, 60 LBS injectors, 981 valve springs, 206/206 Cam, RJC Powerplate, LS1 MAF & translator, Vacuum brakes, Hellwig rear sway bar, Energy suspension poly bushings, Razors Alky, Pypes exhaust, 5931 turbo, CK9.5 converter

Stock radiator, car stays steady at 165 temp. Going to put in a fmic. Looking for advice

I'd think for a car driven on the street majority of the time the RJC IC-315-XTF would be the winning ticket!
This is the one I'd choose for my Buick if I was going front mount.......

You won't go any faster with a FMIC. Pull the transmission and have it swapped to a NL and grab a 2800 off the shelf PTC NL convertor. Then post for either a Precision SLIC...or a Precision FMIC.

I hate seeing people piss money away on something that gives them a minimal return. We talked before, and that convertor can't be locked at WOT. One of the locals...and this young man knows how to tune...went 11.01 at 123 on a 1.7x launch on 20 PSI pump gas with a stock stroke 109 and a set of heads. Turbo was a 6131 with an off the shelf 2800 PTC NL convertor. The MPH tells me the convertor was coupling pretty well. An RJC IC would be overkill for your car. A Precision SLIC would work well...as you're spraying alky. You could also grab a Precision FMIC...as you're leaning towrds a front mount. Either could be had fairly cheaply used...as they aren't made anymore...to my knowledge. Your other option is to grab a multidisc Vigilante 2800 LU convertor. I believe they're available in a 5 and 7 disc. Slip rate comes in between 3 to 5 percent when locked...and they can handle it all day.
