removing old EMC-10 by ATR engine moniter module
« on: February 24 2017, 12:13:40 AM »
This old system seems to be tied into quite a lot of the  electrical circuits. It was a performance addon that allowed you to adjust the timing, turn  on the cooling fan manually,it gave you a/f ratio readout ,knock warning.I would like to remove all of the wireing associated with this system before  i start to install my new 60 lb inj with turbo tweek chip. Not sure who the previous owner had install this system but i'm not too impressed with the quality of workmenship (wires everywhere). I purchased a new scan master last year and feel i dont need this old system anymore. My biggest fear is that i remove this thing, and the car wont run.the IAC probe seems to be missing(a small temp disc is now behind grill)there are extra relays on both inner fenders.I am not sure what happened to all of the OEM connectors comming from the cars wireing harness(will have to trace them all .Here is my question,Does anyone happen to know anything about this old system,or better yet know where i could get a installation wireing diagram ,so to work backwards and remove it.Is it even necessary to take it out?Maybe it isnt worth all of the work?

Any input would be great
Thanks

Judging by this thread, Eric the tt chip fellow has knowledge of it.

I would hit is site and get on his forum and ask. I would bet he has a diagram.

Maybe get signed up and send him a pm over there. He has always been very helpful to me.

Gee, I'm feeling I missed out on all the "fun" leaving my car stock all these years. If you can figure out  pics I would love to see them.

Back trace all wires coming from unit .  It's been a long time I installed one many moons ago don't  remember it being to complicated.
