A little fender bender

Had a reminder today about my priorities.


Here am getting ready to go drag some ford ass this weekend and as I am getting out of my truck after positioning it to load my car, I see my daughter coming down the road. She was headed home with her brother after school as usual. I shut the door on my truck and hear the sound of two cars rubbing metal together. Look up and see my daughters car vear off into the neighbors yard. I start running down the road and see my daughter and son getting out of the car. Neighbor was backing out of his driveway while texting. My daughter sees me and yells to me that they were ok. I slow to a jog and as I get there I see that she is crying.  Tells me she's so glad that her brother wasn't hurt because he was in the passenger seat.


Funny thing is that they had just passed a police car up the road a bit and that policeman pulls up almost immediately. Gets out of the car and asks if this is my daughter. I say yes. He says, "Well, I know she wasn't speeding and I know they both were wearing their seat belts."  Then he asks if everyone is ok. We exchange insurance info and I drive the car back to the house on a flat front tire. Only about 100 yards to the house. Can't roll up the passenger window, so under the carport it goes.


She had to be at work at HEB at 430 so I give her the keys to the Wagoneer and she heads off. I'm both surprised and proud of her. First for being concerned about her brother and second for getting back behind the wheel.

Glad everyone is safe. Cars can be fixed or replaced. People not as easily fixed and not replaceable.

Looks like she has earned herself a BOSS 302! ;) Glad everyone is okay.

We decided to let her drive the wife's JK and the wife is driving the Wagoneer until I get back from Noble. Ive had my eye on a 93 camaro that a friend picked up a few weeks back.  If we get that, I'll be in the camaro for work and the wife will have the truck.


No I didn't go off him. He's a vet just trying to make a living. He was completely over apologetic for what happened. Even came back down to the house later to inquire on the kids. Kept going on about how he will always be remembered as that guy in my daughters first accident. I grabbed the tractor and helped him pull his bumper out so he could open his tailgate to get at the tail light hardware. It's all good

Remember, loud pipes save lives.  So a 93 Z28 is slow enough to be safe - a 40-series Flowmaster can make it well heard.

At least he knows he was a dumbass.

Back on hitch this week and working nights. It's kind of nice to get paid while you sleep.


Wife is driving my truck. Daughter is driving the JK. I took the Wagoneer down to Carrizo Springs. Left a message with my neighbors insurance adjuster. He hasn't called back. I did get something in the mail from his adjuster saying that mandatory BS. 


I did pick up that Camaro and at a steal. Not enough time to go over it thoroughly before making a decision that I would be comfortable enough to put it on the road yet. I'll have to start a thread on the car.  We named it Tweety.  Has floor mats with the little bird on them.
