Well, Jeremy, I ordered a
« on: August 10 2016, 05:33:39 PM »
Galaxy Note 7.  As you always like to point out my computer decisions, I thought I would let you have first crack at telling me why it was a bad choice.  As long as you don't tell me I should have bought an Iphone, you can hack away other wise.   :icon_lol:

Maybe with the ability to write notes to myself on the screen, I will start buying what I went to the grocery store for, or order all the car parts I need at one time instead of paying $9.95 three times a day for shipping.

Personally, I would have liked a Nexus but I wanted the stylus after using my son's Note 4 a few times.  I like straight android if given a choice.

I call it the Restart Retard.
I can't wait to root the pr*ck and get rid of Samsung's garbage.
Look your new phone up at XDA developers.

Nope.
Samsung just likes to "update" the phones to new versions and screw them up.
There's a whole raft of people on the net who got bit when they allowed the update from Kit Kat 4.4.4 to Lollipop 5.1.1.
Marshmallow 6.01 does seem to be doing better though.
The funny thing is that none of the other companies seemed to have had nearly as much trouble.
Go figure.
It might have something to do with Samsung's MDM program though.
It looks like they want create a BlackBerry/Apple style secure operating environment.

Samsung is notorious for slow updates.  ATT has not offered a Marshmallow update down here on the Note 4.    They have been more prompt with security updates recently.  I suspect Nouget will come along for the 7, but I would not bet anythng on the next version.

I don't like Touchwiz but if it aggravates me enough, I will install another front end.  My main complaint is with all the junk that ATT sticks on them.  Another good reason to go Nexus.

I hear you.

I've almost taken a hammer to mine more than once.

Between the sh*tty operating system and the Play Store crap,it gets REAL frustrating.

I miss my little Sensation.

yeah, I was talking to you!  lol

It's been a few years since I had a damned Iphone.  Apple is an extension of the socialist movement.  We all should be the same and send our money to Hillary instead of doing good deeds with it.

Agreed Steve. Apple believes money trumps majority opinions or beliefs.

Apple, Google, Microsoft - pick your poison. Samsung has developed Tizen and wants to be a major player too.

No doubt there.  At least google lets me pretend that I have choices.  I got a Gear Fit 2 when I pre ordered the phone.  I guess Best Buy was out of the 256 memory cards when I ordered mine..but no matter.  I see the Fit 2 is using tizen

I am glad to have long enuf to gone from vacuum tubes to transistors to whatever we want to call the current state of affairs.  95% of the stuff is totally useless but the evolution and capabilities of technology today is amazing.
