624 is the original delco number and the only module that will work with caspers coil/module tester.  the other one, when I google it, comes up for 3.8 and not the turbo...did not find it on rock auto.  The original was made by Magnavox

Seems to be for a 92 olds 3.8   I bet it will not work under boost

the Standard brand  LX338 reportedly works for some.  None of the other brands seem to work.  Delco #19260720 is the GM replacement for 624.  It will not work on the casper coil tester so it is made differently... probably by Standard or someone but I have heard of it working

Doesn't Dan or someone have a known working module and coil so you can find out if that is the problem.

Once again Steve...parts are scarce up here. Modules up here...cost an arm and a leg brand new. Is there an aftermarket brand that you know for sure works that I can get through a jobber. If so...which one(s).

The Standard LX338 has worked for quite a few people....

Still, I would try to prove that was the problem before I bought anything

I believe the AC Delco D1996 will work, but they aren't much less expensive

If I have to shell out for a new module...then I'll walk into the dealer and order one. Lets talk about this fuel pump. When Dan and I went to fire this engine up...it took a little while for the pump to come up to line off pressure. I don't recall having to wait after an engine change before. Something else. The pump isn't holding pressure after key off. I noticed that yesterday. I don't have the FP hooked to PL. I always take a practice run down the track and watch the FP gauge to verify the fuel pressure is rising 1 for 1. When I eased into it Friday night, I let it go into high gear...but not WOT...and called it good...as the fuel pressure was following boost. I'm wondwering if it's starving for fuel at WOT. I can get a FP from Jack at Racetronix in a day or two. Everyones thots on this.

Jim, I just checked the file. The instant it bogged...the 02's dropped horribly...all the way to zero for a split second. TPS shows me outta the throttle instantly. KR was less than 1 count. Boost is just shy of 16. I just barely pulled the rod over the arm for the test runs. Any ideas guys?

I read something about if you clamp the hose on the fp too tight or with 2 fuel inj clamps that can cause the "hold pressure" issue after shut off. Mine doesn't hold either, but never been an issue.
Check ball is in the snout I think.
Maybe the pump is taking a dump. And only showing up on extreme demand.
I'd verify like Steve said 1:1 in high gear.

They are hit and miss Brad, will your supplier take it back if you have a problem its obvious if they are not right.


I tried 2 and the 3rd one was good.

Trying the fuel pump first. I have 3 modules here I can try after I pop a fuel pump in it.
