Light Truck Tire Suggestions-Chime In

In the fall I'm gonna be replacing the tires on my 2004 and 2010 2500 HD's. The 2004 is my daily driver...so I need a tire that's good in the snow...yet quiet on the highway. The 2010 is strictly for towing spring to fall...so I need a tire with a load capacity to handle the 20 foot enclosed trailer loaded with the GN. Open to suggestions.

Brad, when I bought my '03 Sierra 1500 in 2011 and I put new Firestone Destination LE tires on it. I have approx 60,000 kms on the tires now and they still have at least 60-70% tread life left. Nice and quiet on the hwy and I've never had any issues in the snow (Barrie). I'm quite happy with these tires.

I went thu many Goodyear Wranglers because of thrown belts- so those are out.
General AT2s seem quite good in the snow, getting a little noisier as the rubber gets old but not bad.

For the load ratings your after and value, I would recommend Hankook tires. I run the dynapro line on all my trucks. Most all the folks I know that hot shot run this line of tire.   There are several selections from the dynapro line

I like the Firestone transforce AT. I also like Michelin AT but they are more expensive and it appears they make a new thing called AT/2 but I've not tried them. I get the 245/75-16 for the suburban and 265/75-16 for our 2500hd.
Hankook looked good but I never had any and they seemed just as much as the firestones.
Make sure you get an E rated 10 ply for towing and such.

Weird Dave about you having problems with them shifting belts, my employer prob has 100 trucks in our area running them and had good luck with them.  We run E's so that might be why.   We've had pretty good luck with some of the BFG's as well.

my 2014 ram came with the firestone transforce on it, they were ok but didnt last long. I rotated them often and still only got 45k from them. I put on wrangler duratracs, they are louder, and stiffer, and aggressive... but I likes 'em. Not a lot of options in 20" wheels though, so there wasnt much to shop around in load range E. In ascending price: Firestone, Duratracs, Michelin, thats it.

Nitto NT420S on our TBSS; the 421S are an option too.  Going to put something similar on the Colorado once we settle on some 20 or 22 inch wheels.

The new silverado came with Goodyear LT, Not a whole lot of choice in 20" wheels with Load range E.  I always kept Goodrich on my 1500.  One set went for 80K miles

The Kuhmo Road Venture AT51, really good price and they are all weather tires.  As for longevity, can't comment on that.
