Devil's advocate with Julio...    It's his kit, it came out of his mind, he built it, and his name is on the box.....

I can recall a few times, I got asked to build a timing cover/oil pump....    BUT the person wanted me to do it differently than I wanted to do it.

yup I agree, and that's totally fair! On the other hand, its not like I was asking him to cut up his kit to make something special for me... I just wanted to rebuild my pump.... and to be fair he did say I could send it and he would check it out.

I may still send it in, but there was a very clear "I told you so" undertone just waiting to pop out when that pump to arrives. So I figured I was gonna cut my losses and put my own kit together just like I had been told by my mentors before.

I have an old SMC alky kit that the pump has died on.  I am going to go with an external pump but as I already have holes drilled for the previous tank I want to replace the old tank with a new one, without holes!  It is the round plastic tank that mounted to the fan shroud with pump inside.  Any idea as to where I might pick up a new one?  Looks like standard off the self item.

This tank you speak of, do you have pix? Is it a cylinder? If so diameter of the end. Length/height? Color?
Hard to know what you are looking for by the description.

This is a great thread full of knowledge. Thanks for all the replies.

If he's referring to the oval shaped bottle, I believe I have the complete kit that's just sitting there....I've never installed it. I can send pics when I get home if you'd like...
