Armdrop Results
« on: May 21 2016, 08:52:13 PM »
Getting tired of racing these Ford guys in their new Mustangs and whipping their butts...so I'm lining the car up in the 'hot lane'. Running against the big tire cars.

Race 1. 81 Malibu. Dead even till the 1/8th mile mark...and he ran outta gear. I coasted from about 100 feet from the end for the win.

Race 2. The Cormier Auto twin supercharged Gen2 V6 circa late 80's or early 90's Gran Prix. Got to his rear quarter...and that was it.

Race 3. 1967 Chevelle. He was out on me 4 car lengths before I knew what happened. Reeled him into to 2 lengths but ran out of real estate.

Jason...can you post the pic of the twin V6 supercharged Gran Prix I sent you on your cell? Can you guys remember the mid 60's Olds that had the twin FWD V8's in it? This Gran Prix is the same deal. Very cool...and damn fast!

I've seen the Gran Prix run as quick as 11.1. Ron from Hamilton was there hanging out with me. I think he said it went 11.2.

If you wanna see how horrible that 'track' is...take a look at the opposite lane of the bug. Grass growing up between the cracks...and check the dip in the asphalt. It's nothing but a pedalfest. It's was a WW2 training facility...and the tarmac has been there since it was built. The stone has come to the surface...and it's as abrasive as hell. No spray or anything is put down. I tried leaving with boost on the third run yesterday...an d hazed the slicks well into 2nd gear. The best thing I've found is to leave at an idle with 10.5's with 10 pounds of air in them. I tried the 9's yesterday...an d they were useless.

The GP went 11.0 on one pass.
An audi s4 went 10.9 I don't know what was done to it but was a total sleeper.

In terms of traction there is no burn out pad to speak of=just a tanker that was leaking like a sieve so guys were doing burnout in water then driving another 20ft. or so in water. so yea the traction sucked.

Even so there were a lot of nice cars there and was worth the trip.
