It's been many years since I ran dual wastegates on the cross over  :D

My opinion is that the more sophisticated that we make these cars, the more flaky they become.  I think Paul would be a good place to get an opinion as well.

Would one cylinder with a random misfire cause this?  Plug wires? Weak valve spring?

I didn't get the plugs in had pick up the daughter and I hate burning myself:) after I dropped her off I went out and did a little test hit. I have removed the shims from the waste gate so it's just the spring it's not fluttering. I rolled into it in 3rd it went to 24 held steady for a bit then 25 then 26 and I lifted no knock trying to decide what's better the flutter or the creep....

No it's a turbonetics evolution external gate this what I found when I inspected itI removed the5 shims and re adjusted the controller to get it back to 24 psi

Well, I'm certainly no guru, but here is what I would try. It looks like there are several shims. Maybe try them half on one end of the spring and half on the other or some different combos more on one end and one on the other, if they fit in that way. Turn the spring over and do the shim shuffle that way.

You will be real good at pulling and installing the cover. Plus it is way easier than goofing with the 2004r governor and its springs.

Is there a replacement spring you can get that doesn't require the shims? Maybe do a little porting of the exhaust so it can exit easier. Nothing drastic, just a clean up.

No, I was suggesting a factory wastegate was the solution

It's a Damn Shame that something worth $500 US costs us almost double to have shipped up here. Even taking into account the weird shape & size it's about the same as I paid back when I was getting parts from the Buick catalogs back in the early 90's For us Toronto guys it's worth going across the border for a weekend or overnight trip with the wife & picking it up from the warehouse just across the bridge. I forget the name of the place? It saves a lot of $$ on shipping & taxes etc.
