Been pretty busy lately fixing the trailer (not going smoothly BTW).  Pictures pretty much speak for themselves.  The frame was fooked, it is less fooked now (used 3/16" angle iron to reinforce the rotted section).  Painted the wheels (POR-15 and some semi-gloss wheel paint).  The tonneau cover (I guess you can call it that, maybe privacy cover is better?) is all 20ga and 1/8" plate/angle iron.  I still have to make a prop rod system (was thinking about gas struts) to hold its heavy bitch ass up (sure am glad I can shoulder press my body weight).  It has double locks and the lid (?) retains the tailgate pins.  I hope to have it painted in the next few days; then I can address the lighting - and start packing...

Hinges might be a pain on the end vs a side. Safer driving I guess.

I thought about side hinging it, but that would have potentially impacted the use of the tie-down rails.  I also thought about making a center split lid hinged off the sides; again didn't like how it limited the use of the rails.

At this stage I just want to go racing... kicking off in 13 days. Eek!

I flat bench 225lbs pretty regularly; I think is a little less than that. LOL!

Not light, and very awkward. But, it will do the job.

After a 6 hour long thrash last night the trailer is painted.  My shoulders are burning and my neck is very stiff this morning.  Overall it got really good coverage considering how much surface area I had to deal with.  Dealing with a 3-4 hour pot time was a bit stressful.  I still have to undercoat a few spots and hook up the new lights but it is basically complete - and can GTFO of the garage tomorrow (needs to be shielded from rain for 24-48 hours).

I'll grab pics tonight once I stop hating myself.

Jason I was thinking the same thing. Clear coat it with Mat or Satin & weld a few weird car parts on it!

Pardon the delay, things have been busy.  Pretty much done now - LED lights are on.  The wheels go back on in the morning and TBSS gets its parking space back.  Just a few minor things left to do.

My vacation starts tomorrow, and finally get to spend some time quality with the family before I depart.

Got an email from HOTROD a couple of days ago which contained about 12 pages of paperwork (tech and spec sheets, and waivers) to fill out.  Just when I thought my Drag Week thrash was complete... FML.

Oh well, it is done now - I doubt we'll be interesting enough of an entry to write a story on; but, they have the facts now.

In the paperwork it states that you can identify a second racer - so I put my brother down in case he wants to participate.  He does. :)  Also, you can have as many passengers as your car can carry - they all get free entry to the tracks/races.
