thanks Brad for the offer! Just over the counter timing sets? I know you have your motor apart it seems like once a year, do you find they are wearing much after a season of use? Sometimes info you read gets influenced so much by venders its hard to tell what myth from reality can be at times.
I've had this same timing set on the last engine...and I beat on it for 3 seasons.
I just transferred it to this engine...and it was still snug. I run stock junk...works just fine. I'll text Joe for a part number for a timing set for you. Lift the hood on my car...and you'll fall asleep from boredom.
I had the other engine out of the car numerous times. Overboosted it...never did find the headgaskets.
Piston pin came loose...scored a cylinder. Had it sleeved. Cracked a cylinder...had it sleeved. Cracked another cylinder...and tossed the block. Went to my original engine in July of 2014. So far...so good.
Dan and I can have my engine out and sitting on a stand in an hour. I'm not joking.
