I made it over!

Gentlemen, I was prompted to come here and play and was told this is the place to be. Many of you know me as Turbolicker on other boards but it was time I changed that. I look forward to interacting with you all and being part of this community!

Gentlemen...sa y hello to Chris. He's the man who looked after the paint and body on my GN. Chris is a licensed body/paint and auto tech. He also owns his own bodyshop in the GTA. Body and paint questions...fi re away!

86 white T type with t tops and blackout trim. 60lb injectors Gen 2 with Extender Chip TR6 ignition 212/206 roller cam Turbonetics BB CPT 61 CAS V4 Intercooler Cobbled together Alky Injection 4 inch MAF pipe with integral sensor
2800 stall lots of fun with a little 6 banger!

Brad, thanks for inviting me over and acknowledgemen t! Jason, the car was painted with Urethane and cleared. Although Urethane does not need to be cleared because it will dry shiny and pretty resilient my experience has been that a clear coat finish is less prone to fade and as such is lower maintenance. I managed Brad's repair but my cousin and protégé put in most of the sweat. He has been working on my Buicks with my direction for years and I can gladly say he graduated to be damn good with these cars!

Chris, I talked to Mike...and I'm overdue for bodybushings for the GN. Text me and let me know when an appropriate time for me to call you...as I know you're busy. I have no idea which ones to use. I'll book the car in with Mike in the spring to get them done. Chris...keep in mind the car sees track duty every weekend...if that helps in your choice for bushings. :)

Thanks for the answers Chris.  I recently had my Wagoneer painted and we used the same products. Just curious to here what other paint and body guys are using.

Great question Brad I had planned on going with poly bushing. Apparently Dennis can still source the rubber ones.

I will have questions for Chris too if he is up for it. Once the frame is finished I have to get the shell ready to mount up there are 2 small holes in the floor ps rear size of a dime and the channel for 1 body mount needs to be replaced.

It's hard to say the Ttop area is spotless and there is a small area near the rear seat belt. Might have been the rear window all in all it's in great shape twice the car my current shell and frame is.

Good evening gentlemen,

On a T-Top car I would only use a urethane busing set due to the amount of flex already there. Also, urethane will not distort anywhere near the amount rubber will over time just from the body weight. Rubber is a good choice if someone really likes the soft ride feel. As urethane is harder it transfers more road vibration through the body and ultimately to the driver.

As for the floor and reinforcement repair I can see if the reinforcements are available aftermarket or if they have to be fabricated. Floor repair is not an issue.  would rather see it to price though.
