Priming oil pump thru the cam sensor hole.

Any of you young guys that can remember things!  Which way is the correct way to spin the pump drive with a drill?  Counter-clockwise or clockwise?  I want to tell someone the correct way to turn the pump after filling it with oil via the cooler line.

I have always spun mine clock wise but I don't have an oil cooler does that matter? Last few times I just filled the filter and the drill did the rest.

yeah, I thought it was clockwise.  The oil cooler is a quick trick if you don't want to spin the pump...have to have the adapter on there to do that...so no, it's not important.

Sometimes they don't want to prime even with the filter full...unless the pump was packed with vaseline when installed.  Sometimes they will.

When I installed my cover rather than use Vaseline I installed my filter and poured lucas break in additive in the cover and turned the pump by hand a couple times till I had fluid on both sides  of the cover installed it and spun it with the drill worked pretty slick and its not as messy as it sounds if the motor is on a stand.

I did mine on the stand, and forgot about the pressure switch.  When I shot oil onto the man door going into the house I knew I had the correct direction. Then I had to find a pipe plug.

Clockwise...an d they'll all prime. Dan and I have had a few put up a fight...but the drill eventually 'grabs'.

I spent 20 minutes one day trying to reprime my car after I had removed the high pressure bypass valve to swap springs.  Maybe if I had spent an hour, it would have primed..or if I had over filled the pan to get the level closer to the pump....so I am not sure they will always prime :D

Dan and I have literally taken turns on the drill getting a few to prime. Some are a real whore. :)
