Changing jobs is like rolling the dice.  Sometimes I have been very fortunate,  other times it has been a disaster.  Merry Christmas and good luck to you in the new year.

Thanks for the well wishes. I hope your year is better as well. I am hoping it will work out. The supervisor seems to think I have potential and is helping me learn the ins and outs which is more than I can say for a lot of previous employers. The big upside is after I've been full time for a year they pay for the whole family health insurance.

The dumb thing turns out is that the guy I didn't like got let go about the time i got laid off. I called them but they told me the position had been  filled which is good because it forced me to find this next place . Ian going to do my best to make it work out. The coworkers are great and the biggest drawback is it is a 60 mile round trip commute. I'm probably gonna be in the market for a more fuel efficient car. Even though the T got 22 mpg on the last tank.we have the 2000 Malibu my daughter ran out of water and locked up so ill probably put another engine in and use it. I want to get the wife a different car too. Maybe one of the new Regal T cars. They look pretty sporty.

I think there is a few of us here that have similar commutes, mine includes toll roads which are a killer here.Worth it if the co-workers are tolerable :)
Here's hoping you have a better year ahead.

Yeah, the commute doesn't really bother me. I am down to one speaker on the driver dash working and it is crackly so some new speakers are in order. I just didn't want to spend the money on em until I had the work situation under control. I do enjoy driving the T. Though it shall get some suspension upgrades too. New shocks at a minimum.

I cant even think about it much. I just cant understand people who continue to go to a job they hate or coworkers the don't like. I must make changes. I must move forward. If it works out I will have weekends off though I think I will try to keep working the Saturdays at the job that laid me off. If nothing else it is some extra money to stack up. I want to have several months money stacked like I used to. I just haven't been able to with the stagnant wages. I'm hoping this job will change that(if i get it).

All Right! I got "The Call" on Friday about four thirty that I needed to come down to HR Monday to complete the paperwork for rehire. So, hopefully I will be calling my self full time employed again come Monday.  This is also a Union job, Local 767.

I'm pretty stoked.

Also, the Power Tour will be coming through our back yard this year. Anyone else coming to participate?

I appreciate all the support. It is real nice to have friends even if I haven't met them personally.
