A lot of broken parts does not make you a racer; it makes you a slow learner.

Have a lifelong friend over this evening.  Had him follow me home in the Wagoneer to tell me what his speedo is reading when mine says 60.  He tells me he's doing 68.  I believe that's a 12% difference if my math is correct.... I put on some 31-10.50's after refinishing the wheels.... I could presume the original tire was a 27" diameter.

Wonder if I could add 12% to the fuel mileage since I've actually traveled 12% further????
That would give me about 13.6 mpg...... Not too bad but not really that good either

When you are having fun with old vehicles, gas mileage isn't usually high on the priority list. It's one of those things that if you have to ask, you probably can't afford it. Even 10 mpg was probably considered decent for a 4x4 suv of the era.

yeah, mileage is mileage....sou nds like you need a speedometer gear with a few less teeth.

I use my phone with a gps app to check speedometer accuracy.  Makes it very simple and very accurate.

Well after a little over 3500 miles, we've developed a leak. The rear output seal on the transfer case and the front seal around the torque converter.  Looks like I'll be pulling the tranny... Fun times

Got a tranny jack and an adapter for a regular jack if you want to borrow it Jason.
