Finished the small stuff.  Still have to do the grill and the bumpers. Interestingly enough, the bumpers are all aluminum.

Looking good. You are going to have a bunch of time in this good thing there is a market for them if you need to get out of it. Gonna be sweet when you get her done.

Did you have plans for the interior?

I've have wanted one of these wagoneers since I first saw one back in 70's. No plans of selling. This one is not one of the plush models and wouldn't bring the money that some of those high end models. As for the interior, will need to recover the front bench seat.  The seams have split from the sun and not wear.  The back bench seat is in great shape, so nothing there just some cleaning.  Will put down some new carpet both front and rear.  The dash pad is another story.  No one re-pops these and this one is in pretty bad shape from sun damage.  I may just leave that for now and drive it.  Still need to work the a/c and fix a small tranny fluid leak.  Pretty sure that is coming from th dipstick grommet. Also need to go thru the brakes and get some tires.  I'm going to blast the wheels and paint them when I get the old tires off.  That's pretty much the plan... For now

Jason...does anyone sell a dash overlay?
Found plenty of overlays for it but it's like shopping for a tonneau cover at jcwhitney. I have no idea what would work or fit best.  Another option is to give just dashes a call and see what they would charge to restore my dash. On second thought, I'm going to call Montana overland tomorrow and see where he can steer me for the dash.  I did find a Wagoneer place in Richardson but he does restorations only. He gave the info on Montana overland and that's where I got the one piece of trim that was dinged up.

Dollars to donuts there's a Wagoneer forum. They'd point you in the right direction for anything you need for it. :)

Didn't know this...
For 1968 through 1971, Wagoneers were powered by BuickDauntless V8. The Dauntless made less horsepower than the previous AMC V8 (230 hp vs. 250), but more torque at lower rpm (350 ft·lbf (475 N·m) at 2400 rpm versus 340 ft·lbf (461 N·m) at 2600).
After the 1971 model year, Wagoneers were exclusively AMC powered

Kaiser bought the Buick V6 and used it in jeeps for several years in the CJ and jeepster before GM bought it back in the early 70's because of the gas crisis. Buick also stupidly sold the 215 aluminum V8 to land rover and it was used in land rovers until sometime around 2000.
And remember, when dealing with children, silence may be golden but duct tape is silver.
