Got the tranny and transfer case back from a local shop on Monday evening. Transfer case had a couple of bad bearings. Tranny was just freshened with some new clutches, new seals and a new converter.  Got the tranny stabbed Monday evening and the transfer case and all the miscellaneous crap put back in on Tuesday evening. This evening I got all the fluids topped off and double checked my install. Thru the axles up on jacks and ran thru all the gears.  Locked the front hubs and checked the transfer case through its ranges.   Pulled the stands and went out on the road. Road test complete with no issues so far (knock on wood).  I need to adjust the parking brake and recheck the fluid after eating some dinner. Also need to adjust the tv linkage a bit. It's shifting a bit early on the 2-3 shift.

No dirt yet.  We have been talking about a big bend trip this summer.  Big national park here in west Texas along the Mexico border with lots of trails. My father in law loves to go there and camp and ride the trails. He has even taken my boy there on his Ural motorcycle that has a side car. They stayed a week camping and living out of the motorcycle. Good memories for my boy with his grandad.

Might look at palo duro canyon as well Jason. There's a 4x4 event there every year for just about any class.

Doug tends to annoy me a bit more than most Youtubers, but he makes solid points.  In this video he captures what we all already knew: https://youtu.be/VsHPZJVX4R4

Time to get paid for that 80s experience!

Nice find!  I think the resurgence is exactly what happened to our parents. People are looking to buy cars that they wanted to have back in the day but now they have the money.  No plans to put mine up for sale and no plans to rent it out.  But if any of you here on the board want to come enjoy the Wagoneer, just come on down and experience it for free.... Well almost free, you'll have to fill up the tank when bringing it back

Fill up "the tank" - with hot babes - "when bringing it back".  Message received loud and clear.

I have always been good at determining my implied tasks during mission analysis.

Wired up the Wagoneer for trailer lights yesterday afternoon. Then took it for a test spin around town. It pulled that car hauler like it wasn't even back there. I may look at getting some bags for the rear just to keep ride level with a load on the trailer

Might look into some sway control like the Reese dual cam set up. It makes the big enclosed very manageable behind our Suburban.

Might not need the bags with the weight distributing .
