You'll have to move your pulley over.  And make sure the belt runs true.  Odds are the pulley flange is in the wrong spot and needs to be adjusted.

Might be time for a pair of hoses and an "s" hose if you've never replaced em. Pulley gets transfered as per earl. You might even(read:probably) have to pull the studs out of the old pump to put in the new. Just double nut em and reverse em out then into the new one.

Man that is a clean engine there earl. Even new I don't think mine was that clean.
NICE!

OH, and some never seize on the bolts that go into the cover. Steel and aluminum don't play well together. Be careful getting it apart. You don't want to break any off.

It was only that clean since it was the first time I built the 4.2.....

now I'm on round three as the stupid dump Speed Pro slugs have proven they'll crack at the drop of a hat and I have to put my 'earlbrown' forged pistons in there!  :)

It sure would be nice if I enjoyed pulling engines and putting them back!

I can have the engine out of my car and on a stand in an hour. :) School me on these Speed Pros...cuz I beat the crap outta these Sealed Power/Federal Moguls for 3 seasons...with zero issues. Or are these Speed Pros I beat the crap outta? :) H521ACP .030

That's the one's.  Inside the oil ring groove, damn near the entire skirt is one big slot. For some reason I have the ability to rock the piston just enough to crank them at that spot and pinch my rings.

That reminds me, my new forged 4.1 slugs are growing dust. I need to float and balance a new set of rods and put that damn thing back together...

That noise really sounds like my car did when the balancer worked itself loose. Good luck and keep us posted

Earl...who in the blue hell makes these pistons? Is it Sealed Power...Federa l Mogul or Speed Pro?

Yes.

Federal Mogul, Speed Pro, and Sealed Power are the same thing.

Sorry for the late reply. Been traveling for work. The hoses were my first replacement because thats were I thought the leak was coming from. I can video the pulley and how bad its moving if you want.
