So I finally got around to installing the rear anti roll bar.
Simple enough two challenging parts locating and drilling the holes in the frame drilled a 3/16 pilot hole than a 1/2 bit.
The only real trouble I had was my own stupidity cutting the end links alway hold the end link in the vice with piece you are throwing away......
Called Helling to get a part number for the male end so I could replace the one I damaged the threads on they just asked for my address said they will ship it out tomorrow in the AM.
That's very good customer service pretty happy about that.
Not sure if it hooks any better won't know that until I get it to the track sure does handle better.

I have one new in the box sitting in the barn.  Was going to put it on the white T but never got around to it.  So now it's going on GG when I get around to it

Hellwig is pretty good with service. Mine came with a missing U-bolt- i called them and i think it was at my door in two days. no questions asked.
And the bar works great, I am going to get one for my other car.
 
Most talk about having thick skin but thats just BS.
This damn attitude of "you didn't listen to us/me now you should burn in hell for it" really sucks.

How do you gents have the hellwig set up I'm starting with the middle holes but have a question about preloading.


I read this and figure I will give it a try to start.

" Some anti-roll bar manufacturers suggest using a pre-load approach, where an initial load is placed on the anti-roll bar to ensure that the left front of the vehicle does not lift more than the right. This approach also takes some of the end-play out of the connection points which can lead to a more consistent launch.   Steven Spohn of Spohn Performance explains; “The set up is the same for all of our anti-roll bars, no matter the application. You install the bar and set everything neutral. Then you lengthen the passenger’s side end link 1/16″ to set the pre-load.”


“While pre-loading the anti-roll bar is not required for every application, certain cars such as General Motors G-bodies and Fox Body Mustangs can benefit from a pre-loaded anti-roll bar since these cars are notorious for squatting down the on the passenger side during launch,”

No preload here, but on the stiffest setting.

If you decide to preload the bar then you'll need 2 people and the car has to bee on all 4 tires with you in the drivers seat. Attach only one side and when you sit in the drivers seat you will need to measure the distance on the other side. You can then set the bar to neutral and see how it feels.
And remember, when dealing with children, silence may be golden but duct tape is silver.

No. Before you adjust the links you need to install everything but leave the links loose. Drive the car around the block a couple of times to settle the suspension afterwards. Without lifting the car up, unless you have a drive on rack so you can get under it and not disturb the chassis, have you in the drivers seat for weight and tighten one link keeping the legs of the bar parallel with the ground. Then tighten the other link leaving the the bar un-tensioned. This is neutral. Try a launch and drive around some to see how it feels and adjust as needed. If the passengers side squats still then tighten that one up if I remember right. It may be loosen but it's been a long time since I had to do this type of adjustment on the old GT1 vettes.
