New Personal Best 6.72 at 104.67

Went back out today and pulled 4 numbers from low gear fueling and went a full 4 degrees over Erics low gear timing default setting. Cranked out a 6.72 at 104.67 on a 1.58 launch. A big thank you to Steve Wood for helping me over the years.

that damn thing musta bit a chunk out of the asphalt at the line...I am living vicariously thru your achievements!  I suspect you are going to have a hard time finding a mullet to race up there after laying down these kinda numbers!

Combination and tuning - everything has to work together or it's going to be a pig. So many people can't get this through their heads.

what separates Brad from many of the later guys is that he reads instructions and tries to understand how things work.   Most of the guys that write to me apparently never read the instructions.  They don't understand how to program the chip or what the alky adjustments do...and they don't want to.  I have had a number tell me they are hands on guys...they don't like to read.  I take it to mean they don't know how to read.

I had a Canadian g/f from a little town outside of Calgary.  She was adamant that 12 years of Canadian education was equal to 13 years of US education.  Sometimes, I think she was understating the case

You mean I can't just bolt this crap on and go fast? Vendor X told me it'd run 10's now  :icon_eyes:

I get plenty of those.  Most don't want to troubleshoot.. just know what to buy.  We see it here on the board, too.  Tell a guy to check three things and he checks the easiest thing and then comes back and says what do I do next

tell a guy to use a meter and that ain't gonna fly 9 out of ten times

With my Buick I just made due with mostly used parts and focused on the combination.

Brad you'll get to a point where you won't get anymore results from pushing it harder. At that time enjoy it. I kept on chasing the carrot and broke just about everything. I miss my car dearly but it was time to move on. I made some bad decisions - fiberglass doors, and trying to install the cage myself.

Sometimes I wish I would have left the firebird alone - it was fun to drive stock, now it's more of a hassle. Guess I need a Buick for a driver eh ?

I failed auto shop in Canadian school my shop teacher was an idiot.
He failed me because I took every opportunity to tell him that.
