I’ll look at it again Monday, it’s a 20 blade stator. I was planning on calling ptc, Brad can you pm me Dusty’s number. My gut says run it, get data and restall as needed.

Jeremy, I'll make a call in the morning and get it for you. Pulling the transmission twice...sucks. The older I get...the more patient I get.

From what I can see on the pic after playing with it: ptc9511 20-0-6L-SEP

A quote from Dusty. The 9.5's are a different animal. They aren't spec'd for a low RPM stall number. They are spec'd for a HP level and shift point taking the entire combo into consideration.

Dusty will have to decipher this one for you.

Its SL not 6L and SBP not SEP

It's a 20 blade stater, 0 fin angle, spragless with small block pattern/flex plate is my guess, but we'll see.

From what I've seen 3400-3500lb lsx turbo cars with under 800hp usually use the 18 to 20 blades and still go fast out the back. And they use from 3.25 to 3.70 gears.

800 to the back tire...and you'll do more...so it should be spec'd in your neighbourhood. Hope you have safety equipment to go well into the 9's...

I’m good to 9.99 in the 1/4, after that I’ll decide.

Brad you forget I’ve got a baby turbo. I’m thinking low 10’s in the high 130s is an obtainable goal.

Matt put down 600 to the back tire with the 78/75 on 12 PSI with this stock junk Camaro. I have a pretty good idea of what you're capable of...

I, for one, would certainly lurk a thread about experiences pertaining to sprag vs diode vs spragless.

Not even worried about it, it’s no different than lockup vs non lock - everyone has an opinion. Ptc has been making these spragless non locks for a lot of extremely fast street driven turbo cars for over a decade.

You can be sure the real quick cars at Dragweek are all using spragless convertors...a nd they drive those cars over hells half acre to get to each track.

I wish I had not posted that. No matter how carefully worded, I never fail to side track someone's thread.
Yes, I have been to Drag Week events 2 of the last 3 yrs. I was at the US Nationals last yr. In all possible weeks of '018, I had 3 free weekends away from local tracks. I go for free. Not sure what that proves.
I apologize for the hijack. I am out.

It not a big deal. I appreciate the concern. I’m not going into this uneducated, but I’m far from an expert. I’ve spent a long time planning to go to a 400 with ptc 9.5 conveter. I got a chance to make it happen with zero money out of pocket and jumped on it. I know what the it did in the car before mine at similar weight/rpm/power levels I’m expecting.

FWIW it was spec’d for a 3500lb grand national with a 70mm on it. Previous owner called ptc gave them the numbers and combo info they said run it.

Talked to Lane @ PTC this morning - he thinks it's going to be to loose, and wants to put a 15 or 16 blade in it.
