My brother took his Mustang out yesterday for the last TNT of the year. I went 13.2@107. He had 60ft issues the clutches in his posi were not cooperating. Not bad for a junkyard engine. Once we actually tune the damn thing it should run a little better.

Fifty percent of the fun for me is derived from hanging out with the guys at the track. Keep picking away at it...you'll be in the 12's easy. :)

and it's a junkyard 302. The main and rod bearings were toast, so we replaced them. It got a "F" cam 226/226 .512 lift, TFS intake, and bbk headers.

Next year it'll have either a moates quarter horse or a megasquirt box in it.

I assume you know Megasquirt. For conversations sake...why not XFI or BS3?

Mainly price - http://www.efisource.com/shop/microsquirt-1986-93-ford-5-0-mustang/

If my car was fast and I had money to burn I'd do something like a holley dominator with a davis traction control box.

Debating on some changes this spring.

I'm debating on going back to an auto. Probably be a 400 - the overdrive of the 80e was nice, but I don't want to spend $2500 to rebuild it and then another grand for a converter. I found a th400 local for $175 and I might pick it up and rebuilt it myself. Converters are cheap, I'm thinking I'll need another driveshaft for the th400, I already have 3 driveshafts for the car - why not 4.

I'd love to be able to order some slicks and go beat the snot out of it the way it is. But I know kicking the clutch isn't in my best interest with the nerve pain in my left side.

My 4 year old Matthew is already asking me when we get to go race

Hey, you cant deprive your child of "going to race". Nothing wrong with a th400. Cheap and reliable. It's not like you are going to be driving it back and forth to work everyday. Sounds like a solid plan to me.

Jeremy, if you honestly can't 'row' the gears anymore...then it's time for an auto. We both know how important convertor selection is. You'll 'blow through' a cheap one. With our dollar so low you could get a high dollar one for next to nothing up here. Something around a grand would only run you bout 550 bucks with the exchange rate. Should you find something up here in the Toronto area...let me know and I'll pick it up and ship it to you free of charge.

Thank Brad - by cheap I meant a PTC $450 convertor or a Freakshow performance converter $320.

The combo will we changed significantly once I find a money tree.

No progress here. I have all the vss parts for the th400 and that about as far as I've gotten. Also picked up a clean set of truck manifolds for another project.

Doctors switched me to a fentanyl patch for pain. It's helping but I'm drowsy alot. The other option is methadone. I think I'll keep smoking weed before I go there....

Washed the car today - and decided that I needed to lower the front. 30mins later and the front is dropped .5" - love coil overs.
