Thanks, we have been busting ass!
The cement guys somehow splattered their mud all over our siding and our garage was full of cement dust after relief cutting the patio. So we pressure washed the house and ended up pulling everything out of the garage and power washing the garage out. Damn near everything needed to be washed before it could be put back - but it's done, and no more sand being tracked into the house.
I'm looking at options to protect the concrete, I'm thinking of trying a sealer on the approach and patio, but I don't know about it in the barn. Epoxy looks nice but looks like a lot of work. It needs to fully cure before I can get to any of that nonsense.
Tomorrow is moving more black dirt around, and I'd like to get more grass planted.
Foam insulation is holding up progress on the shop, last week of July - then everything should start happening.

Fence next week, getting quotes on gutters, and lifts.
This is the lift one place recommended - https://directlift.com/product/dl9/ but it's back-ordered until sometime in September. He does have these in stock for about $800 more so $4500ish installed https://www.forwardlift.com/product/i10/ the ALI certification is nice, and it looks like a nice unit. I need to do some more research.

One feature to watch for is a single lever locking release like this one has. My first one had this. Thought it was a standard thing. The one I have now. You have to pull a cable loop on both sides. The single lever was WAY more convenient

So the doors in the attached garage were junk, but they opened and closed nicely. I had to remove the rear door for them to pour the cement, and it needed to be raised an inch. No big deal I cobbled it together but thought I'd see if the guy building the barn would replace them, and he agreed to the job.
Well, it was a Friday job and the Amish kid had a hot date at the fish fry in his community so he wanted to leave by noon. The picture is what I got on one door. I guess this is close enough the door will shut if you push hard enough on it, but it's in a horrible bind. The back door isn't in a bind but it's too tight to the latch to the point you either have to slam it or turn the knob to close it. And he didn't take the 2 seconds to sweep the mess that he created around the door - so there is Jobsite mess in the caulk.
I'm fully capable of half-ass, why would I pay for it? Hell, I would have at least messed with it until it shut good enough that the wife and kids wouldn't bitch. I'm waiting for the builder to call me back so I can ask him how he wants to fix this. I was going to say something while his worker was here but I needed time to double-check things and make sure I wasn't overreacting.

I am surprised this is all that is wrong.  I would have expected to fight a bunch of problems given the labor down here.  I suspect the contractor will fix it up....first sign of humanity I have seen out of those kids.

It is not all that's wrong - a bunch of little stuff on the barn that I was trying hard to let go of and I still might. Depending on how this is handled. It's easy to find the bad when you are upset - but the big picture is I have a barn, and I'll be using it as a barn. I can fix the doors, but I think my wife would literally kick my ass...

agree with Steve on that, we built a house 2 years ago. Contractor built house, I built my shop same time......I finished way ahead of them and house had/has several issues that I could take care of but instead she insists the contractor return to take care of them....which is taking forever, she gets madder every month but wont let me just get it done.

Hired a painting contractor for residential exterior repaint...

Fairly simple, single story, 3/2 w/2-car garage.

I'm now in painter hell!
