Progress with a good start!   the way the things are going, the Amish and the Mennonites may be the only people working in this country

If everyone had their work ethic we would live in a much better world!
It was 9*F with a nice wind this morning so about -5F this morning. Didn't stop them - the trusses are up and almost fully tied. They finally took a break @ 9:45 to warm up. Pretty sure metal is going up today!

Amazing how quickly a team of guys can work if they know what they are doing.  They would make a good pit crew.

Keep them full of hot chocolate or whatever they like!

you take any pictures of them lifting the joists, etc?

Three kids, any supervision?

4 kids the oldest might be 20 and the youngest maybe 13. No supervision they know what needs to be done and get after it. They are Amish so I've held back taking pictures while they work as I don't want to upset or offend them. They used a skid steer to lift them and had one guy on each side to get them anchored.
Today most of the metal is up, they are 2 sheets short, and don't have the windows to install. So they split up 2 of them started on my garage roof and the other two are finishing up what they can do on the barn.
I was a little worried at first when I saw how young they were - but after the building inspector told me he wished all crews did half as good of a job as thees kids. He was impressed.

that is one heck of a building

Are the vertical posts set into concrete?  And will the floor be poured around them?

Poles are set in concrete, with a 16" pylon and everything else required by MI building codes.
Grade has to come up to 2" below the footer and then the concrete will come up halfway through the footer and tie all the posts together.

It's really nice!  You will be ready as soon as it is warm up to want to go outside, I think

I don't know why I said pylons - the poles are 42" in the ground supported by 8" thick x 16" diameter concrete footers, and concrete - I don't think they'll move :)

Doh- Looks like they/we completely forgot the vapor barrier on the side walls. That's going to suck if they have to pull down the steel.

If you spray closed cell foam on the walls your code may not require it?
