That's the plan. Today I was hooking hard, yanking the fronts and spinning 10' out. New tires, new front shocks, and some better prep and I'll be set.

The run on the 2nd video looked pretty clean. Best short time today? What gear do you do your burnout in?

Stupid question perhaps...but have you compared short times with a 9" slick to a 10.5"? I currently have 9" slicks on these Ultralites...b ut I have a pair of 10.5's. Think I should mount 'em up and give 'em a whirl next spring? Possibly help my short times?

Heavier cars like the stiff wall slicks. That's what I use - never ran on 9" tires.

Put the car away this week.

Came home Monday to a flat slick. It had a crack in the tread and was leaking air - they were done :)

It went away on a good note this year - next year should be fun. And I won't be waiting 10 weeks for a transmission!

I've been looking at options to run 10.9x N/A - and it's not cheap. Cam, lifters, valve springs, mill the heads, flycut the pistions, new intake/tb, bigger headers, etc - or I could go with some weight reduction either way it adds up quick. I'll probably leave it alone.

the cost of going fast goes up exponentially vs the improvement in time

I buy used when it makes sense - but I've found more often than not, it's better just to buy new. To many idiots in the world.

Jeremy...here's an F Body for ya'. :) This is my buddy Mike I race with. I assume it's the LS1 block...but bored or stroked to 402. Maybe you can tell by the underhood pic. He usually hits me up for some race gas...lol...to fill that square container on the right with the round lid on it...can't remember what he said  he needs that little shot of race gas for. Maybe you know. Those are MT ET Streets 11.5's on the rear...and his short time is usually 1.48 to 1.52. Best is 10.01...and he normally checks in around 10.2 to 10.3 at 135 to 138. Has the original reworked 4 speed auto with a Yank 3400. Drives the car to and from the track...not a sissy like I am trailering  mine. :)

Oh...almost forgot...it has 3 stages of nitrous. :)

That's a sweet ride!  Some day I hope to pull my front wheels even if it's just a centimeter as long as someone gets a pic of them off the ground
