Brad his is starting to get rough, in a couple of years it'll be a rust bucket. But it wasn't the cleanest truck when he bought it.
His runs are fine, and now that he finally fixed the front end it drives decent. He drove 40 miles a day for 10 years with the front end so worn out it was more like driving a wore out farm tractor. The passenger side only has one exhaust bolt broken off, the driver side has 5 out the six broken lol.
My son in law worked at a garage for a short period of time. We brought it in after hours and swapped out all the exhaust bolts.

These showed up today.
Size matters, old 12.5mm wheel studs vs new 5/8" studs

A lot of broken parts does not make you a racer; it makes you a slow learner.

I was able to test fit the axles today - Everything looks good.
Yesterday I attempted to remove the driver's wheel bearing race, and it fought and won at least for now. My Harbor Freight slide hammer is apparently a finger smasher 9000. I got my pointer finger and palm on my right hand pretty well and split them open. Not once but twice. You think I'd learn but I wanted that damn race out. They either fit extremely tight in these aftermarket housings or they put it in with loctite. I'm tempted to grab a nitrous bottle and freeze that sob out - but I'm not going to push my luck at the moment. I started to cut it but I really don't want to get into the register so I stopped. I'm going to go rent the axle puller slide hammer from Advance or Autozoo - it has the proper attachment to grab the race, rather than my backwoods engineered attachment on my POS slide hammer.

Went and rented the axle puller kit, took less time to pull out the bearing races than it took to go get the tool.
I got the axles and bearings pressed together and the axles installed.

The right tool makes all the difference.  Until you get old anyway. Then it is easier to maintain the position and keep doing whatever ain't working than it is to get up and get another tool

The car is finally off the lift - it's been on it since October! The rear end is done! I need to test a few more circuits tested and then the interior can go back in.

Last cold day here is tomorrow. Getting above the freezing mark starting Sunday. Deadman cable on the snow blower auger snapped. Getting it into the shop Sunday.
