Nothing new or surprising.  If you check out all the other turbo forums, guys were pulling the precision turbos apart and showing all the inferior components.  And there were a lot more precison turbos blown than garret, which basically stole garrets design.

Wasn't the problems mainly with the 6262 though?  I know garrets turbos make huge power. Just way too rich for my blood. For my race car the turbo I need is north of $3800.

Huh.

Seems like an eBay-type GT 45-style journal bearing turbo is good-value for money when compared to a Precision unit.

But, now I am looking at a genuine Garrett too; call it peace of mind.

Hopin for the same, the guy I told you about put it together. I'm so anxious for this year I haven't decided who's gonna drive, Thomas or me. Seemed funny, on Facebbook all the questions I got were on the IC plumbing. That's why I like it here.

heck, I liked the plumbing too!

there are still people out there that don't want to remember all the 51-52 turbo failures that had the turbines melting the wheels in a curl or breaking off.

A lot of broken parts does not make you a racer; it makes you a slow learner.

Precision CEA 6262 here. Beating on it every weekend from spring to fall for the last 2 years and can't kill it...and can't say enuf about it.

I've been reading the precision horror stories for years on other forums and lots of the threads are disappearing.  But that being said, I would still buy a PTE6466.  If it blows, I'll put the CPT66 back on.  What can you buy that is a direct bolt on and is comparable?

All the bolt on junk on my car has been incredibly durable over the years...with the lone exception of the GBODY DP I had years ago. It was a piece of shit from the word go.
