The one thing I REALLY hate about ATL is if you have to rent a car - car rental places seem to be miles away from the main terminal.

Oh boy Schatz family vacation!! Atlanta's airport is a small city!! They have a train that takes you from terminal to terminal. If you walk a terminal add about 15 per terminal good exercise. Where you going Gary?

To the first (hopefully annual) Texas Buick Nationals Stephan. I think DFW is bigger since it's spread out more.

After this morning Stefan, I'm convinced I made the right choice to wait until the end of March to escape and detune. I'm really tired of this weather and various other aggravations. I'm struggling to not upgrade my ticket to one way.

Texas is nice you might actually want to stay there!! I've been to Austin and San Antonio both great cities! Gary you need to bring two boxes of Tastykakes they make those things smaller nowadays!! Oh well have some cold ones and some big Texas sized steaks! Enjoy!

Rain's pretty much done for now and the weekend is looking like it's going to be in the 70's and sunny. We're having barbecued brisket and ribs as well as hot links, Stefan. Thursday night we may have steaks but Friday and race day will be the above mentioned. Gary even gets to have some of the homemade wine I'm infamous for and I think he's in for a surprise, and if he drinks to much, and hangover.

We are getting rain most of the weekend temps in the 50's. it's been a cold, snowy winter. I'm sure you guys will have a good time! Do they even have grapes in Texas Charlie to make wine?

We've got grapes and other fruits but 1 wine is apple with peach slices and the other is white grapes with raspberry and peach slices. The apple came out better and much stronger but both are good.

I'm just finishing up the beans, which are kidney beans, a whole white onion, 1 bell pepper, and 1 jalapeno with some seasoning. I already ate but the smell is making me hungry again. After cooking for 4 hours on high they'll be left to simmer all night on low and I'll try them again in the morning before they go in the fridge until Friday.

The ribs and brisket were cooked on a smoker for over 8 hours Rob. I figured Stefan would understand BBQ easier since very few really understand what smoking involves. Just the sausage was cooked for 4 hours at low temp so the flavor would be better. I doubt Gary's had food like this before but I think he'll like it. The brisket falls apart and the ribs fall off the bone. These were done by my boss as a fund raiser for West High school athletics and so far all of them have been really good. They were selling fully cooked brisket for $35 and ribs for $17 to help the high school. I got to help out with some of it and all of the men of West come in with their smokers to help. One smoker is the size of my truck and will hold 72 brisket at 1 time.

Ok. You can slide. Btw, that's the way we go racing. The last race we went to we brought: 9 racks of ribs, a 24lb turkey, pork shoulder and other stuff for the grill. Gary we need a full report how the southerners cook.
