Pink Floyd is EASILY one of the greatest damn bands ever. Whether one likes them or not, they'd be a fool to argue against the band's ability and vision.

I think The Delicate Sound Of Thunder is way under-rated.

Thats the problem with radio.

But yet Metallica is known as the Rock and roll Icon. What happened to Elvis? is he fading away into history? Soon to be forgotten? Pink Floyd along the same path?
Save the bumper fillers!
Move to Canadia!

Floyd was like Zeppelin, it was the 'cool' thing to listen to in HS because it was 'classic"...blech.  Never cared for either of them, bunch of prima donna 'look at us we're special' rock stars...I grew up listening to Sabbath, Purple, Velvet, Underground, Cream, Doors, and stuff like that.

Floyd!?!  Next thing you'll say is you guys like Rush, Yes, and Flock of Seagulls too.

The Floyd are awesome. David Gilmore is SO under-rated as a guitar player, he's a damn composer too! Syd Barrett was only around for the first album, he had a mental breakdown. He's still alive in his mother's house, he just gardens and paints all day. I have an interveiw somewhere, well, a story really of him telling  the guy to piss off pretty much.

Anyway, I'll bring copies of albums to Vegas, the songs they play on the radio are nothing compared to what is beneath the surface.

Meddle: awesome album

Obscured by Clouds: hauntingly cool

Wish You Were Here: awesome freestyle parts

Animals: acoustic genious

a Momentary Lapse of Reason: epic, tears down all 80's rock easily. Yeah, I said it.

And all the these album you can play front to back, no issues.

Flamesuit on...

Many can listen to Floyd, but few can hear them.
(puttin' on the Nomex, and backin' up Natty)
Well said. And I agree. I'm with y'all on this one. Generally I'm the first to bag on the 'classic' stuff 'cause it's all beaten to death and over rated to begin with......but not Floyd. Right now I'm listening to On The Turning Away.

And I fucking hate Rush.
