mixing e85 and 100 octane
« on: September 16 2013, 08:14:49 PM »
Anybody tried mixing e85 in with 100 octane? I was searching on some sites but seemed to turn up old posts. Would it be beneficial for slightly higher octane and lowering cost? Maybe be able to run more boost?

eric makes some e85 chips, but you need larger injectors and a good pump because you have to flow a lot more of it to make the power.  You don't get very far on a tank and alky is very corrosive altho the ethanol is not as bad as methanol

On street gas you can run as much as 30% E-85 but on race fuel I don't think you'd want to use that much. Maybe 15% so you don't mess with your tune any.

i mixed E85 and 93 and the result was awesome.
The car must have been rich and the E85 leaned it out just right.
BTW i never went WOT just and few 10 psi pulls.
Idle and cruise seemed un affected.
Most talk about having thick skin but thats just BS.
This damn attitude of "you didn't listen to us/me now you should burn in hell for it" really sucks.
