I keep getting these depression swings. I think I remember telling Harry once, "I never get depressed". I got some St. Johns Wort. Maybe that'll help.

Depression sucks. One of my drummers had a problem with it, where
he'd stay in his room for days. Another friend has it so bad that because
of his bouts with it, he can't keep a job for any length of time. I know
another guy who's a truck driver that has dissappeared for weeks at a time when it kicks in. He doesn't drive for those companies any more. I hope it is only
a growing thing, and that you'll be back to yourself soon.

I plan on abusing the DD too !  :supz:

It's weird. I'll be depressed one day and the next I'll be ok. Like earlier today I was ok. Now, I'm depressed.

Probably burnout. Be happy, and go out and do shit, even if it kills you.
My 1958 Mamiya can beat up whatever camera you just wasted your money on.

I agree with what Natt- Brian says....go do shit. I've had plenty of bouts of depression in my day (usually QUITE justified), and there's no real answer. Just be careful about doing too much drinking alone.

I usually avoid drinking when I'm alone anyways. My
guess is that this is a passing phase due to all of the changes
you've been through in the last two years. Also with all the
time you have by yourself lately, you've spent more time thinking
about everything.  It'll all go together in time- just not over night.
It'll seem overwhelming for a while, but you'll get through it.

I dont have issues with drinking alone. Probably cuz I drink so fast that I dont have time to have issues.

Heres an example. Tonight I got off work feeling fine. As I was walking through the casino I glanced over to the pit. BAM! Suddenly depressed. Not because I miss my job, not because I miss dealing...for no reason. Lord knows I hate dealing as it is.

Maybe because I hate dealing but I know that dealing will get me back on my feet but I dont want to, but I have to. ?

The Shelly from the Beau called and left a messege a couple of days ago. She wanted to know if I was comming back. Shes cool, I consider her and her husband friends. I can talk to her...I think. I really need to start making decisions. Do I go back to Biloxi where I live an easier life....where I'm known, liked and respected...wh ere I can get back my "daily routine"....Or do I stay in Vegas, try to get into table games...or maybe stick with slots. Do I try to chase my passion of consumer service at the Wynn...should I try to change the way guests are treated? Can a Mississippi boy tame and change the cocky arogant attitudes of the Vegas folks? Can I get the Wynn to be known as a Ritz Carliton kind of place? I know that sounds like a crazy dream but for some reason I feel I can do it. It would be a tall task. Probably impossible. But than again, I thought it would be impossible for me to own a GN. I made a plan and made it happen. Now I reap the benefits and the things that come with owning a GN.

How you can care so much about a damn job is commendable.

You need a hobby to come home to, man. Like if you played guitar you'd love just hanging out alone.

I've almost started to work out. I got some weights here. I wouldnt mind getting in shape like I used to be. Hopefully this slow start will turn into a daily routine.

Guitar? Hmm.

Don't knock it. Its fun gettin' down with the low notes.

Listen to guys like Flea, Geddy Lee, Steve Harris, John Entwistle,
Les Claypool, Cliff Burton, Billy Shehan, John Paul Jones,etc...

Those guys have it going on. If you ever decide that you'd like to join
a band, the options are endless. Whereas "everybody" plays guitar.
Hell, even I play bass now and then...

All I'm saying is that the bassists you list above are the exception to the rule. The reality is that a LOT of bassists are just guys who couldn't cut it on guitar and all they are able to play is the redundant "bum-bum-bum-bum" crap. If one has what it takes, why not play guitar and know that in so doing, you can easily pick up a bass and kick ass on it.

Ryan Martinie is the sickest bassist out there, IMO.

I don't think its that simple...
In an odd sort of way, I can tell who's a bassist by
devotion, and who was a guitar player who crossed over to bass.
Its hard to explain, but its different.

You're right about that. But, sadly, the former has been a rarity in my experience. But, why would one choose to limit themself with a bass? As you said, every dick on the block plays guitar- but I think a reason for that is because it's arguably the most versatile instrument ever.

Sorry to hijack, Robert.
