finally got some time to get this installed...WO W!!! its way better than I expected and I have done next to no tuning so far. Cant wait to see what it will run at the track when its dialed in. Next track date is sept 29th.
 
Still have the wheel hop problem when doing a burn out. Much worse now with more power. Have helwig rear bar mounted in middle hole. Does using the end hole increase traction or decrease? Also can I lubricate these energy suspension bushings? When installed they already have grease between the bushing and sleeve? If I have it up on a lift, can i push up on one rear tire and tell if I have some binding or wouldnt i be able to tell that way?

I cant help with any of your questions(sorry ), but that's great about the alky!!  How many lbs of boost are you running? Do you have Razor's kit?

The kit is from Alky Control, very nice, easy to follow instructions. 24 LBS of boost and O2 numbers are still above 815 so I will be pulling some fuel when I get a chance to mess with it more. I wont be adding any more boost.

wheel hop means you need to fix the rear shocks
....might be time for some new ones

end holes would decrease stiffness

alky is addictive  ..i dont miss those days of race gas even when you could get good race fuel at around $5 a gallon ...now c16 is approaching $20 gallon

Car rides well. No bouncing , handles okay. How can I tell if they are bad? They are kyb shocks so not original, car has 60000 miles

How old are they? Or how long have you had the car?

The GN I bought supposedly had "new" Monroe Gasmatics. That meant I had to replace them. The old ones probably had 5k miles on them, if that - and this car has sat for ~6 years or so.

I replaced them with the same shock, Monroe Gasmatics. It's not drivable yet, so I don't know if the ride changed, but I do know that one of the shocks I pulled out didn't rebound when I compressed it.

They are cheap, and easy to replace. You could put the KYBs back in if there's no change.

Personally, I have never experienced wheel hop in a TR.

Sorry about confusion, I just gave the company name, I thought it was also refered to as razors kit but wasnt sure??
 
Steve, glad you chimed in, was wanting your input on my wheel hop issue. Now with added power if i do a burnout ( i only spin them for about 10 feet, dont want to break something) it will leave a six inch black mark, jump ahead six inches and burn again....a dotted line affect. If it is the bushing binding, can i loosen the nuts on the bolt back say 1/16 and put another nut on as a locker and run it that way? That should eliminate any possibility of binding there. Was just going to try new shocks but dont want to spend the $120 from Rock auto as the ones on the car ride fine.
