so i have been missing on here for a while lieing low. the car was running as u might guess so i had no time for the computer. haha. well i had a lifter ticking so i pull the intake manifold and got to looking at it and it just isent what i want it to be. so i think i am going to get it ported along with the heads? any suggestions?  :rock:

Champion Racing heads, also port intakes. It was
like $265 with an exchange last time I looked.
Probably not worth doing on a street car though.
Do you have an RJC power plate ? Those are
good bang for the buck.

I'd say Power Plate and the Precision upper plenum, if that.
My 1958 Mamiya can beat up whatever camera you just wasted your money on.

if he charges close the 265 for the intake i will get Champion ported stocker. but does anyone do the heads for a decent price, like champion or anything? i just want my stock heads ported... im shopping around, lol. but yes the power plate is a must. y do u say the ported intake isent for a street car?

IMO, it's just a hefty amount of time and work unless you're racing this car often and looking for every couple of tenths that you can get. I had my engine apart recently and didn't even do it then, while I was in there, 'cause I couldn't really justify it.

Save your money for an alky system....best bang for the buck.

Although, if your pump ever fails or your "Low Alcohol" light ever burns out it could end up being just that....bang. I quit the alcohol thing and now just run full time race gas....it's expensive, but it's safe and I never drive the damn car anyway.  :mad:

You don't really appreciate much gain from it until your car is in the low 11's and down.

i decided i dont have time for the down time to do the heads and intake so for now im gonna attempt my search for a rear end. anyone know of where i can get a stock 3.42 10 bolts? 8.5

Get a new posi unit and if you wan tto go all out, get some Moser axles, though the stock rear is pretty beefy.

that stuff would be nice but i am stuck with a 7.5 rear with 2.73 gears... i need the whole rear end.
