door panel repair?

ok i have the intereior door panel off the drivers door.as you know its 2 pieces upper an lower.
well theres a metal strip attached to the lower panel  where the upper goes into.  well mine fell off.??
i was gonna try this 2 step epoxy stuff  but it says not for poly type plastic??
any tips

I would try the epoxy, but I would test it in a small area first.

If it's OK, make sure to scuff up the plastic with a green scrub pad or steel wool first to give the surface some tooth.

I would believe what is written on the epoxy and go buy a different one

There are some 3M double sided tapes that are supposed to be good for rocker panels etc
-Drain plug by Earl Brown, custom oil pan by Rich's Auto
