I went back and edited a couple of posts from last night to indicate there is an EST feed from the module to the ecm and a by pass feed as well.  A problem with either of these two can cause a code 42 altho the most prevalent is the module itself from what I have experienced.

Well, when the shop fixed the issue, that's what was reported back to me.  Bent pin on the stock chip.  Car was breaking up bad even after the ignition module and coil pack from NOS4GN.  Im just relaying the reality of what happened here.  Lol.  Lean exhaust popped up every now and then during that time too.
