(I had added the thread to the Central Fl GN/ttype club because i'm paying member of them,I've known the owners since the 80's,But your right, It's a Technical build in a Half) 8^)

I moved it to the correct forum.

I have spoken to George about the CFGNNTYPE club moving their "home" from turbobuicks.co m to here - he said he is considering it.

Thanks

you may have popped the 3bar map sensor with the backfire , does it still read 0 kpa key on

pull the cam sensor cap and check the reluctor disc , its probably spinning
thats mostlikely the cause for the backfire

This glitch is a real pain/pin in the arse...I've replaced "all" the sensor's,coil pack Ign.module, Checked compression (all at or just over 150),harmonic balancer/ring,cam sensor ring, ran through as much senor wiring as could be had. Had Julio from Alky Systems out, Had Cal out from Hartline perf. out. Now i've sent the XFI back to F.A.S.T.  The issue is no communication from XFI to the IGN. Module for advancing. If the box's circuitreys   good, It has to be a harness issue somewhere. I've spent $2000 trying to find the problem,an i'm almost there....I should find out Monday if the Box is good,F.A.S.T  was hooking it to a Buick GN they have there Yesterday. Out of everything that can cause this issue i have it down to XFI box (bad circuit) ,Harness issue (pin 15),or Cam key-way issue (twisted the cam)....The Cam will be the last on the list (in that case, i'll be yanking the motor....)  I await word....

Drum Roll from a bi-polar Monkey with Tarots Syndrome.

^&*^*&*(*),(*((*&^&,%^%$,&^%$*^&

This whole time it's the........::: Ignition Module ::::

What you say??? Yes an confirmed (much as possible)

Hate to say it, but i dragged Cal out again with a Bonus of Holly is assistant .

After some diagnosing

We put the Old Ign. unit back-in, Car Fired Right Up..Nice an Smooth...***But****..It is the Old unit an after 10-15 min, run time....***Zip***...No ign. fire/stall.

So, my first Ign. Mod was just on it's way out..( Would only run the car 20 min or less )

The   #$%$^*^&   Brand New one an Coil pack I thought i got from Cottons (have to dig the receipt out)
Is Bad or at least won't work with XFI what so ever... ( Wouldn't run the Car at ALL... )

So the score is One Ignition Module on the way out, The New replacement bad from the get go,A Third New ones on order an will arrive in 2 days,An Acdelco unit from Acdelco.

Cottens ad said this new one i got was Acdelco, apparently not, Kirbens site says off-brand,so does HwyStars, ....Beware....

Who stock's a no BS original ACDeclco OEM Buick Turbo Ignition Module ??????

I didnt have an issue with my coil pack and module i got from nos4gn.com. You probably just got one out of a bad bunch.  Good luck with the car tho!  Hope you get it running soon man.  You've been having issues for a while with this car.

go with bob bailey TR6  setup
http://www.bailey-eng.com/tr6/

ac delco is a crap shoot i dont care who you get it from they are all overseas made and no different from the carquest brand

get the caspers tester and test the module, coilpack and wires... and test them often .
http://www.casperselectronics.com/store2/product_info.php?products_id=607
and they sell adapters to test the  spark operation through your wires

Yeah, no kidding.  Nothing like spending tonnes of money on stuff you don't need, to try to impress a bunch of people you don't know.  :chin:

Either this guy has really deep pockets, or one serious line of credit.

Has John modified his coil tester so that it will work on a non AC Delco coil pack?

Either this guy has really deep pockets, or one serious line of credit.

It's other peoples pockets. He took a brand new engine knowing ran it lean, blew it up and then stayed in it. Then sued the engine builder (that built him a race engine) for fraud and got $30K.

Now he's got other guys on the ropes trying to figure out how to make a street legal racecar idiot proof.

This guy takes checkbook hotrodding to the next level.

Pretty sure the Standard brand does not either...Last time I asked John, only the AC would work.  Once he said he was going to offer a new version that would work on all brands, but, I never saw it.
