Best fuel pressure regulator for a modified 87 GN

I have a 1987 GN that has a ACCUFAB fuel pressure regulator, that although rebuilt, does not increase fuel pressure when accelreating.  What FP regulator should I buy to replace the one on my car?

Does the pressure change when you remove and replace the vacuum hose?
If so I'd be looking at the pump and filter first.

If it really is the regulator, the one you have is as good as it gets and it can be rebuilt/repaired

Undo the 6 allen head screws & take a look at the diaphram. If it isn't torn then it's probably fine. Thats all they include in a rebuild kit. Pretty unusual for them to tear as they are quite strong.

Dumb question but if the diaphragm was torn then wouldn't fuel leak from the vacuum fitting on the regulator?

No. The fuel bypassing the diaphragm would be drawn into the engine causing a rich condition. You would notice the issue if you pulled the vacuum line off while the fuel pump was running.

Been there, done that.
