The only thing I miss on the PM is it's better at holding the car back at the tree. It takes alot more effort with the vacuum setup. Plus, if the master cylinder goes out you can still get a replacement unit with the vacuum setup.

I can hold any RPM on the line I want...with my vacuum brake setup.

As many members were killed with the powermaster as with the vacuum setup. I think the count is still at 0.

The cost  and availability is the real reason to switch. At this point in the game hydroboost is the way to go.

the biggest weakness of the vacuum system comes when you up the cam duration and the vacuum drops.  Maybe I should say danger as well as weakness.  Cars are hard to stop when there is little vacuum stored in the booster.  I remember those days well.

Hydroboost removes that problem plus it provides more pressure to the brakes than does vacuum.  This was also true of the PowerMaster.

For a street car, with a stock cam, vacuum is fine....

Norbs should start selling hydroboost kits for you Canucks....TB3 would never put together a write up/pictorial for us yanks.  These days, i suspect one can put together a HB system for not much more than the rip off prices of a vacuum system.

Give us a sense of how loud the whine is. You can hear it above the engine?

With the key on foot+off the brake does the motor ever cycle?
And the noise isn't coming thru the radio?
