I could never shoot any pistol as well as I could a 1911, and I imagine many people are in that group. Mr Browning knew his stuff, eh? Would rather field strip a Sig, though.

Check Brownells and Midway usa for a trigger kit Steve. It should make it more comfortable to shoot with the right parts in it.

Ordered the Apex sear and buffer kit for it....seems to have an excellent rep

Thinking about ordering the Storm Lake 9mm barrel as well

How much did it cut the trigger pull down Steve?

factory, after broken in is supposed to be 6.5-7#, but, mine felt closer to 9 or so...

With the new sear and striker block, it is supposed to be around 4-4.5#.  I would guess it feels like 4.    I was shooting about ten inches low at 25 ft...trying as hard as I could to not pull the gun off target while squeezing trigger.  Now it is right.....much smoother take up and easy break

The one you have is 10 rounds. You never know when you'll need that extra 3-4 rounds.

As far as snakes go my wife's grandmother came across a little one button in her closet the other day. The deputy put a coffee can over it and took it outside for her.

where did my post go?

the little snakes have a far greater concentration of poison due to their small size.  They are often more deadly with their bites.

I bought another M&P yesterday....t hey just brought out a slim version called the Shield and I saw one at Academy in a 9mm.  Single stack, only holds 8 in the longer mag but is better for a jeans pocket when walking around the place....shoot s pretty good.  Got some snakeshot for it...the 40 is a lot stronger, but up close, the 9 does a good job on snakes as well
