well Mike didn't know squat about Buicks when he started the site. At the end he still didn't know squat  :player: . I laugh everytime I think about his "budget " 4.1 rebuild. Blew that sucker so many times I forget the # of engines he did or redid. Then of course he had the "in information" on all the different silicone colors  :add_wegbrech: He really hadn't been that active for years . He got married an just moved on. Some people can do that  :icon_fU:

He topped it when he became a full fledged vendor and starting making up science to sell alternators...

He made the right choice when he took the money, imo.

You Earl & Ed roughed him up pretty good over those alternators!  :player:

Ask Norbs about the mini alternator. No wait...he's already on max dosage for blood pressure pills.

Mini alternators cook themselves very quickly if you try to go more than a quarter mile at a time, and often fail in a year if used only on race cars....make them out of imported junk and who knows?

Never worked from day 1. Norbs shipped it back at his expense...and it still didn't work when returned.

Good thing he's out of the groups then. It's a shame but it sounds like Paul from the ebay thing. :013:

I donated regularly up until I saw that Mike was losing interest but the last time I donated I sent him a coupon I got from Grizzly Industries (tools) and he said he used it to buy an 80 piece drill bit set. Probably been collecting dust in his garage since he got it.

LOL, no, Dan, I was not referring to the board.  I made a comment, and then thought it was a wasted effort and could not delete it.

Hey, I learned a lot on the board.  I learned that it did not matter if the oil pump was rubbing because you could go ahead and take it to the track and then rebuild the whole engine when it blew.  I learned that the only difference between clean silicone and blue was food coloring.  I learned that ground wires did not carry electricity.  I learned that a high amperage alternator would make your fan run faster.  I learned that only a specific brand and number of teflon would seal head bolts.  I learned that all the stories about hypereutectic  pistons breaking under detonation was b.s.

I did learn a lot there so to me it's a shame that it will die a slow painful death.
